Nutmeg
Nutmeg (Meg or Meggie)
DOB: 02/24/2003
Dark Golden Female
OFA Hips Good
AKC Registered Name: Molly's Golden Angel, CGC, RN, CD
Weighs ~55 lbs.
After 4 litters, Nutmeg was retired from our breeding program at the age of 7 and was spayed soon after her retirement. She now lives with Chelsea (one of our daughters), but enjoys coming back home to visit. Louisa (our other retired girl) is enamored with Nutmeg and loves when she comes to play--probably because they grew up together and are only about a year apart. Meg has adjusted to the single dog life really well and gets spoiled even more now.
Meg and Chelsea have been working hard in the AKC Obedience ring and recently earned their Rally Novice (RN) Title, as well as their Companion Dog (CD) Title. Even as Nutmeg gets older, they plan on continuing to compete in obedience and rally obedience trials--for as long as Meg enjoys it. Nutmeg is also a favorite when it comes to the local fair. Chelsea is too old to show her through the fair now, but that doesn't stop Holly (one of our daughters) and her friend, Brianne, from showing Meggie. They did really well this past year (2011): Holly and Meg earned a Grand Champion trophy in their graduate novice class and Brianne and Meg earned a Reserve Champion ribbon in their pre-novice class--congrats girls!
Not only is Meg Chelsea's major obedience show prospect, but she is also Ellie's sister (from another litter), and the daughter to our late Molly and Mo (the two goldens that started it all). Nutmeg and Chelsea are happy to announce that they received their Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certificate a few years ago and are now helping to teach other owners how to train their dogs.
