Ellie had 9 beautiful puppies!
Ellie had 9 beautiful puppies on Thursday, February 9th, 2012. There are 4 girls and 5 boys :) Because Ellie was not progressing like we wanted, we brought her to the Dodgeville Vet where they suggested that we do a c-section. Ellie has recovered from her c-section and is relaxing in our home with her new bundles of joy :) More pictures can be seen on the Golden Puppies page.
02/08/2012 Eesa had to have an emergency surgery!

Louisa December 2011
Don't worry, she is doing really well now! However, we rushed Eesa to our vet (Black Earth Vet Clinic) because she was acting like she was about to have puppies--which we knew could not be true. They discovered that she had what is called a Pyometra (an infected uterus). Because we caught it in time, Eesa is now recovering from her sudden surgery and doing quite well. Well enough to jump on our beds and chase squirrels (against the doctor's orders!).

One New Goat Kid--November 26th, 2011
Plymouth was born around Thanksgiving, hence the name. We also named him Plymouth because his mom's name is Lexus! He is a spunky little kid with a fluffy coat. Plymouth is a tri-color and his dad was Cosmo (one of our previous bucks). He will be for sale when he is old enough (about 3 months old).

Dane County Fair 2011 Goats & Steers
Hannah, our cousin, loves to show our fainting goats at the Dane County Fair. This year, she received a first and second place ribbon! Brianne, a family friend, also enjoys showing our goats through our local FFA chapter. She earned a first place ribbon, as well as, a Reserve Champion ribbon :) Congrats girls!
The goats also enjoyed the fair! Kissy and her twin doelings are pictured to the left. They love to climb on the small ledge by the goat barn.
This was Doug's first time showing his steer at the fair. He received a second place with his Holstein steer, Whitey. Great job guys!
They are pictured below just chilling after a long day at the fair.

07-17-11 Dane County Fair Dog Show
Nutmeg & Holly (pictured to the left) received a Grand Champion trophy in their graduate novice class. Nutmeg also competed with Brianne and they earned a Reserve Champion ribbon! Way to go!
Ellie & Holly weren't on the top of their game, but they still made out with a squeaky toy! Nutmeg and Ellie both received second place in showmanship, as well. Holly optimistically decided to show Ellie and Nutmeg (the sisters) in Brace--similar to novice obedience, but done simultaneously with two dogs! They earned a second place for their efforts.
Overall, the dog show was a great success this year--great job everyone who attended!
